About
Kaydee’s musical journey began at the age of 3 when she asked her parents if she could take singing lessons. Her mother decided to put her in piano lessons at first. Kaydee started the violin at the age of 8 and began singing in high school. Kaydee comes from a musical family and is one of 4 siblings who all play the piano and a stringed instrument. Her mother is from the Philippines and pushed her kids to strive for excellence in music and to never give up. Her father introduced his kids to many genres of music and taught her about the emotional depth of the arts.
Kaydee enjoys being able to play both piano and violin. However, piano will always be closest to her heart. She enjoys playing music from all periods, but especially loves the Romantic and Contemporary Periods. A few of her favorite composers include Sergei Rachmaninoff, Frederic Chopin, Franz Liszt, Arvo Pärt, and Philip Glass. She has played piano in ensembles such as the KC Philip Glass Ensemble and Kinnor Philharmonic Orchestra in Kansas City. She is currently working on a solo piano project that will be released this winter.
Outside of classical music Kaydee began playing violin in bands by doing a small tour with Ashley Corryn in Iowa in college. Kaydee realized she not only wanted to play classical music, but fell in love with the freedom of performing violin in a band. She grew up playing violin in church and plays music now and then with her siblings. She likes to add violin to genres that normally wouldn’t have violin. Over the last few years she has played with countless artists in the KC area. You can find where she is playing on the Events page.
Some of Kaydee’s notable performances include playing harpsichord with the Opus 76 String Quartet in 2022, and performing at Carnegie Hall with The University Singers choir at UNL in 2017.
